Better materials

Down the years, Redwood has developed a number of innovative products and fabrics to meet the ever-changing needs of the healthcare sector. We created our innovative Xtreme technical textiles to resist the intense cleaning regimes demanded by the rise in hospital acquired infections. As the population aged, we also developed the Verituss range of medical mattresses to help combat pressure ulcers in elderly patients.

Now, our expert scientists, technicians and designers are working on the next generation of fabrics and medical mattresses, designed to better serve both existing issues and the evolving challenges of tomorrow. 

Better fabric sourcing

We’re proud of the contacts and contracts that we’ve built around the world as part of our fabric sourcing, but we’re always willing to consider new and different sources. If we can improve the quality of the fabrics on offer, cut the cost of purchasing them, or improve the speed and reliability of our deliveries, then we always will, because we know that every little helps when it comes to giving our customers the edge.

Better manufacturing

Redwood has come a long way from our early days of hand stitched production. In that time, we’ve invested substantially in the very latest mattress manufacturing equipment, from foam profiling to laser fabric cutting, from high frequency and ultrasonic welding to digital printing. This already gives us industry-leading capabilities as a mattress supplier, but we’re always on the lookout for more, to enhance our skills, broaden our range and offer even greater support to our customers. 

Better logistics

As a major mattress supplier, Redwood is perfectly placed when it comes to distribution. We have the motorway network right on our doorstep and international trade routes, via air and sea, close by. We also have our own fleet of delivery vehicles, and we use state of the art logistics software to make their routes to you as efficient as we can. But however well planned our deliveries are, we know that they can always be better. That’s why our team are constantly refining our routes, checking new flights and shipping options, and investigating new engines and fuels for our lorries, to ensure that your delivery is made as quickly and as cost-effectively as possible.
